Theatre Reviews
"There are four strong actresses playing the lead roles, and one who is the warm-up person and handles the ensemble portion of the play. Her name is Katherine S. Barnes and she is a delight. With her delightful smile and positive attitude and the ability to change costumes in sheer seconds, she is a delight to watch. Every little movement is adorable and she never gets out of characters, no matter the part she is playing. By the way, she does a mean Viagra Pill!" ~ Alan Breslof, Around The Town Chicago
"The stereotypical role of Yente the Matchmaker is attacked head-on by Katherine S. Barnes, whose ethnically defined accent and line readings set her apart from the rest of the cast." ~ Larry Collins, News-Leader Springfield, MO
"...Felix allows his emotions to ruin a dinner party with the Pigeon sisters, two characters who were especially popular with the Abilene crowd, mostly because of good performances by Kim McClay and Katherine S. Barnes, imported BFA holders." ~ GW Clift, Arts Critic
"MSU recently brought strong musical values to Sondheim’s “Sweeney Todd,” with excellent orchestral playing and
seductively lyrical singing by Katie Barnes as Mrs. Lovett and Mary Kate Moore as Johanna. Michael Casey’s fine
directing and conducting and the vivid “city on fire” set design captured much of the work’s power." ~ Larry Collins, News-Leader Springfield, MO

“Kudos to the cast for making each song from beginning to end come alive. My favorite numbers, I must admit, were “Ireland” and its reprise, wonderfully sung by KATHERINE BARNES in the marvelous pull-up-your-big-girl-panties role of Paulette Bonafonte.”-Frank Ramirez
"It's supposed to be hard. If it wasn't hard, everyone would do it. The hard is what makes it great." - A League of Their Own
